- Range extends from manual hand-held devices to networked end-of-line systems
- Premiere: New Luna A1 rotary arm stretch wrapper
- SoniXs MS-6 KR-ZV with focus on displays with promotional goods
Mosca GmbH, a company specialising in strapping machines and materials, will be presenting several new products and solutions for sustainability, digitalisation and service at LogiMAT in Stuttgart. Highlights at booth 6D21 in hall 6 include the German premiere of the new Luna A1 rotary arm wrapper and the entry-level SoniXs MS-6 KR-ZV machine, which focuses on securing supermarket displays.
New, compact and high-quality: Mosca is presenting the Luna A1 rotary arm stretch wrapper from its subsidiary Movitec for the first time in Germany. The rotary arm-based wrapper is designed for medium output and wraps up to 35 pallets per hour. ‘In logistics, among other areas, we are seeing a growing demand for more compact systems for small batch sizes of ten to fifteen pallets per hour,’ reports Hartmut Köster, Portfolio Manager Wrapping Systems at Mosca. With the Luna A1, Mosca now offers a system for this segment with its usual high quality.
Well-known quality meets compact design

The Luna A1 features a Siemens PLC, a Siemens touch panel and frequency converters from Lenze SE. The control system is integrated directly into the base frame and can control up to five conveyors without a separate control cabinet. The machine allows the wrapping film to be pre-stretched by up to 300%, saving material through this stretching. A taller version is available as an option, allowing pallets with a height of up to 2,500 millimetres to be wrapped instead of the usual 2,000 millimetres. Unlike rotary ring wrappers, the new Luna A1 does not have a 4-column frame, but is particularly compact thanks to one base column.
‘The rotary arm wrapper is a cost-effective solution for a wide range of industries with low performance requirements, including small to medium-sized production and logistics companies,’ says Köster. Mosca also advises users on selecting the optimal film type so that all components match perfectly. Once commissioned, the IXON remote maintenance router is available as a maintenance option, enabling fast remote support from Mosca technicians.
SoniXs MS-6 KR-ZV secures displays for supermarkets

With its entry-level machine, the SoniXs MS-6 KR-ZV, Mosca is specifically addressing the packaging challenges associated with supermarket displays for fast-moving consumer goods at LogiMAT. The packaging of displays with different products often requires manual work: after filling, the displays are fitted with slip lids or cardboard covers, individually strapped and then bundled on a Euro pallet and wrapped there.
‘Packaging requirements vary greatly depending on the product and packaging. Our experts have a wealth of experience with different solutions and advise customers on processes, strapping types and logistics solutions with a view to reliability, product protection and an optimal carbon footprint,’ says Christian Großkopf, Sales Manager Food & Beverage at Mosca.
In view of staff shortages and increasing automation requirements, smart, flexible solutions are in demand. These not only provide users with the necessary capacity, but also offer the required planning security, especially for seasonal goods. With its in-depth expertise in handling display pallets (quarter pallets), Mosca underlines its position as a specialist in this segment. The SoniXs MS-6 KR-ZV can be seamlessly integrated into customers’ existing conveyor systems and is offered with a comprehensive range of services.
Scope of the Mosca portfolio

From its broad portfolio, Mosca will also be showcasing two manuel strapping tools, HUG and HUG +, designed for straps with widths of up to 15 millimetres and 19 millimetres respectively. The HUG + is particularly suitable for demanding applications due to its stronger strap tension. A shredder for the used strapping material complements the solutions on display: it shreds the strapping used by the hand strapping tools live, so that it can be mechanically recycled and fed into new straps. Mosca is thus highlighting a key concern: the development of a complete circular economy, which the company is promoting with projects such as ‘Loop That!’.
Mosca is also presenting its SoniXs XT, equipped with the latest SoniXs ultrasonic unit, as another entry-level machine. A rotatable control panel and a standard second foot pedal allow operation from both sides. The machine also features the latest internal frame system, which is designed for easy maintenance.
The range of exhibited products is completed by the SoniXs P7-Connect, which Mosca will be presenting in the belt version. The machine, designed for connectivity, enables data transmission via mobile communications directly to the cloud. From there, the recorded information can be integrated into ERP systems, for example, and reused. The machine has advanced interface options to ensure smooth machine and plant communication. In addition to the control panel, the machine is equipped as standard with a user-friendly WebHMI, which allows performance-related key figures and machine settings to be viewed.
New reusable load securing system ‘PALSTAR’
In addition to the physical exhibits, Mosca will be providing insights into current developments in the field of reusable load securing systems on the booth. With its latest development, PALSTAR’, the company is presenting a concept study for a new reusable load securing solution.
It is a modular system with an intermediate floor and clamping system integrated into the pallet. ‘We have created a method that is completely reusable and can be automated in the future,’ says Christoph Leppla, Head of Research and Development at Mosca. The solution is primarily designed for intralogistics and closed material cycles. With regard to the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), Mosca considers this system as a valuable addition to its existing strapping and wrapping portfolio.
All in all, Mosca is once again demonstrating its innovative strength, wide range of products including consumables, and comprehensive 360-degree customer service at LogiMAT.
