BolognaFiere Cosmoprof and Health & Beauty present their development plan

The acquisition by BolognaFiere Cosmoprof of the German group Health & Beauty has been officially announced in Paris during a press conference.

Gianpiero Calzolari, President of BolognaFiere and BolognaFiere Cosmoprof, Georg von Griesheim, CEO of Health & Beauty, Marcus Reichel, Digital Business Director of Health& Beauty, and Enrico Zannini, General Manager of BolognaFiere Cosmoprof presented a project for the future development of the partnership.

Thanks to this acquisition, BolognaFiere Cosmoprof and Health & Beauty are preparing to strengthen their influence worldwide, combining the global know-how of the Cosmoprof network, which brings news and trends to the world, to the widespread distribution of Health & Beauty in Europe, both through the initiatives of the “Beauty Forum” exhibition format, and in terms of communication with magazines dedicated to the sector.

The new alliance aims at increasing the business for the cosmetic markets of central Europe, increasing the growth opportunities for over 500,000 professional operators and 9,000 exhibitors participating in the events of the two platforms.

“This operation – said Gianpiero Calzolari, President of BolognaFiere – is part of the growth strategy of BolognaFiere, one of the main players in the exhibition sector, the second one in Italy and among the top 10 in Europe, with more than 80 events in Italy and abroad. For 2019, BolognaFiere expects to achieve a total turnover of around 180 million euros. The beauty industry is the area of greatest economic impact for the group, with about 75 million euros in turnover of the BolognaFiere Cosmoprof company, which organizes the events of the Cosmoprof platform around the world. A turnover of about 45 million euros comes from international events. Thanks to the acquisition of “Health & Beauty”, the consolidated sales revenues will increase by 8 milion euros. The partnership with Health & Beauty will involve a total of 150 professionals, who will put their know-how and experience at the disposal of the group, thanks to their knowledge of the cosmetic market”.

In addition to the Cosmoprof events in Bologna, Las Vegas, Mumbai and Hong Kong (with Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, Cosmoprof North America, Cosmoprof India and Cosmoprof Asia), BolognaFiere Cosmoprof participates as international sales agent for events dedicated to the beauty world in strategic markets for the sector: Iran Beauty & Clean in Teheran, Belleza y Salud 2018, in Colombia – Bogotá, and from 2018 in South-East Asia with AseanBeauty (Thailand), PhilBeauty (Philippines), VietBeauty (Vietnam) and BeautyExpo (Malaysia).

Overall, the Cosmoprof platform involves over 370,000 professionals and more than 7,000 international companies.

Health & Beauty, based in Ettlingen, Germany, is an international media company operating in the cosmetics sector, with 25 specialized magazines. It is the organizer of “Beauty Forum”, a b2b show scheduled in 14 countries and involving 1,600 companies and 130,000 professionals. The “Beauty Forum” events are held in Germany – in Munich and Leipzig, in Switzerland – Zurich, in France with the Paris fair, in Poland with a double appointment in Warsaw, in Hungary – Budapest, and in Romania, in Cluj-Napoca.
