Kodak today announced forthcoming upgraded software solutions with Unified Workflow Solutions, which includes KODAK PRINERGY Workflow, KODAK INSITE Prepress Portal, KODAK COLORFLOW Software, KODAK PANDORA Step-and-Repeat Software and KODAK PREPS Imposition Software solutions. The planned cloud-based features of PRINERGY will improve efficiency, quality and flexibility with new proprietary functions and the technology will be demonstrated for the first time at the Kodak stand (Hall 5, Stand F09) at drupa 2016.

Allan Brown, Vice President and General Manager of Kodak’s Unified Workflow Solutions group, said: “Kodak created the workflow automation software market with the launch of PRINERGY Workflow in 1999. Today we continue to push the boundaries of our current offering and take it to the next level with our cloud-based features. PSPs visiting our stand at drupa will see the value of incorporating Kodak’s Unified Workflow Software solutions in their businesses”.

PRINERGY’s new cloud-based service will offer PSPs a new way to minimize cost and risk with increased operational efficiency. It will also enable users to run predictive analytics in real-time from anywhere. This important new capability will provide visibility into aggregate production costs and/or system performance in real-time and performance over time.

PRINERGY Workflow will be available as a fully integrated workflow for both offset and digital printing. It will include a new universal Digital Job Ticket Editor, making it the industry’s first workflow that lets operators make production decisions in real time.

In partnership with Ricoh Company Ltd, Kodak is leveraging these digital printing enhancements within PRINERGY Workflow to enable an advanced level of automation and management of Ricoh’s new fleet of production presses that are driven by the Ricoh TotalFlow Server. These new capabilities make it possible to completely control all the job ticketing parameters—manually or through Rules Based Automation (RBA)—of multiple Ricoh devices while monitoring and reporting the status of each, right alongside CTP devices.

Unified Workflow Solutions addresses specific needs in Packaging
•PRINERGY Workflow will include significant enhancements to Maxtone SX Screening for four color applications, support for XMP Screening assignments from other workflow systems and compliance with the latest Ghent Workgroup packaging industry standards.
•INSITE Prepress Portal will support PRINERGY Workflow’s Preflight+, which identifies possible printing errors immediately by using the latest industry standards, ensuring improved proofing quality and client satisfaction. Web browser security is also improved through the removal of the Flash component.
•COLORFLOW Software will be G7 Certified, enabling printers to address even the most demanding brand owners’ requirements for G7 compliance. Harmony users can migrate to ColorFlow Software to ensure a more integrated approach.
•PANDORA Step-and-Repeat Software will include a feature to identify waste areas during die-cutting, support for non-continuous color bars and a new auto ganging feature that recognizes non-rectangular shapes – most common in packaging – for improved sheet utilization.

“As the world-leader in workflow automation software, Kodak is continually improving its offering to enable its customers to stay ahead of the competition in this fast-changing market. Our Unified Workflow Solutions is testimony to this,” said Brown. “A single integrated workflow for hybrid PSPs, the functionality to reduce material waste and a reduction in job turnover times when printing on packaging, are all powerful tools that will help our customers focus on the growth of their businesses”.
